ORHUN KARTAL

Born in Manisa on March 18, 1969, Orhun Kartal is a graduate of Ankara High School of Science'86 and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Bogazici University'91. His professional endeavors inaugurated shortly thereafter, as the founder of Kayi Construction, Inc. and continues with other companies as Hun Yapı ,Inc , Agrolive Agriculture,Inc , Alkons Construction,Inc

Kayi Construction Inc.'s Director of Board from the very first day, he orchestrated the delivery of numerous construction projects in 3 continents and 7 different countries, leading 6000 employees who are equally dedicated to the vision of offering the best outcome within a limited timeframe while delivering uncompromised high quality.

Throughout his academic and professional life, Orhun Kartal also had the opportunity to devote his time and effort to a number of undertakings for which he assumed personal responsibility. He actively participated in the initial stages of Bogazici University Construction Club, and, to this day, he is a supporter of the Steel Bridge design competition held each year by the Construction Club with the participation of future civil engineers from universities nationwide. Mr. Kartal also provides financial backing in the education of a multitude of students through annual scholarships. He has implemented renovation projects for numerous residential homes and school buildings in the region hurt by the big earthquake. He is currently working on authoring a book to share his expertise in the field. This academic contribution to the sector will encompass the topics of contracting, privatization, and business management.

Orhun Kartal is a member of the Turkish Association of Contractors , DEİK and Board Member of the Istanbul Science Center Trust.

Mr. Kartal is married with three children, and has recently taken part in a collaboration with his wife Yonca Kartal, who, upon finishing her undergraduate studies in Economics at Bogazici University, worked at Koc Systems for a while and changed direction to be the founder of Mutlu Adimlar Pre-School.

When he is unoccupied by family and work obligations, he plays golf and tennis, and he has memberships at Kemer Golf & Country Club and Tennis, Fencing, and Mountaineering Clubs.

In 1994, Kayi Construction, Inc.'s international operations commenced with the first Turkmenistan project. In 1998, the first project in Russia was given start. KaSa Stroy was founded in order to overtake contracting and development projects in Russia, in 2002. The same year witnessed the launching of Kazakhstan projects with the construction of The National Archive Building and a residential undertaking in Algeria.

In 2006, Kayi Real Estate, Inc. was founded to join the key players of Turkey's rapidly growing real estate investments sector, Kayen Kayi Energy Investments, Inc. was launched to build renewable energy and hydroelectric energy plants, and Katan Foreign Trade, Inc. was initiated to engage in the sales and leasing of construction equipments. In 2008, the projects of Harbour Beach Residence in United Arab Emirates and Serdika Shopping Mall and Office Spaces in Bulgaria were undertaken and delivered. Ozas Shopping and Entertainment Center, one of the biggest malls in the Baltics and Europe, was completed in as short as 2 years in Vilnius, Lithuania. In order to place bids on European Union and Eastern Europe projects and to centralize the management of construction operations, a company was given start in 2009 in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, providing employment opportunities to 40 Lithuanian citizens.

Kayi Construction, led by Orhun Kartal, was named one of the 32 Turkish contracting firms that achieved the success of being among the world's most prestigious construction firms, according to ENR magazine. The same magazine's 2007 "Top 225 International Contractors" listing featured Kayi Insaat in 200th place while Kayi's 2008 ranking was 125th. Kayi Construction, Inc. was also deemed worthy of the Overseas Contractors Business Accomplishment Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009, granted by Turkish Contractors' Association.

Kayi Construction is in a continual bid to sustain the success achieved in the Baltics through undertakings of new construction and projects in Lithuania. With a focus on the industrial markets in Germany, United Kingdom and France, its goal is continued leadership in the sector through long-term partnerships with international brands such as ECE Group, IKEA, Vestel, Pirelli, Volkswagen, and Renault.

Hun Yapı started out in 2012 as the result of an aspiration of its partners to merge 22 years of knowledge and experience with a fresh and dynamic perspective. Hun Yapı's main areas of activity were envisioned as domestic and foreign construction contracting business. Projects taken on by Hun Yapı encompass each and every stage of construction, from land acquisition and project development to final turnkey delivery. 

Hun Yapı has taken on two dormitory projects in Serdivan - Sakarya with the Total Area of Construction : 13,000 sqm, 1000 residents capacity; Urla - İzmir, Total Area of Construction:10,500 sqm 650 residents capacity; Zonguldak-Kozlu Total Area of Construction:24.000 sqm Capacity : 1,525 residents; all of which are par with modern standards. 

Hun Yapı continues investing towards Turkey's renewable energy needs through its partnerships in Kayen Alfa Enerji, Kayen Beta Enerji, and Kayen HetaEnerji. Starting out with hydroelectric power plants, Hun Yapı added solar energy to its portfolio of undertakings on sustainable energy.

With ATTALOS SOLAR ENERGY PLANT started launching the first "Sun Field" project in March 2014 in Adala – Manisa. With new projects in tow to increase capacity, Hun Yapı has resolved to grow in the sector.

With the other company named AGROLİVE TARIM HAYVANCILIK,Inc. he continues making other investments on agriculture sector in Adala- Manisa.

ALKONS CONSTRUCTION, Inc is another company which is active in the real estate sector. This company has two buildings and they are used by Eyüboğlu College and and Mutlu Ari Nursery school as aducation sector.
